The Ocular Genomics Institute was well represented at this year’s MEE Research Day.
During the session on Therapeutics and Regenerative Medicine, Dr. Qin Liu presented her lab’s work on Targeted therapies for USH2A disorders and Dr. Ryoji Amamoto reported on the efforts in his lab to find a gene-agnostic treatment for Retinitis Pigmentosa
At the Trainee Blitz session, Michelle Bartolo, PHD of the Segre lab presented on “Evaluating the Impact of Ancestry, Sample Size and Cell Type Specificity on PRS Performance for Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma” and Riccardo Sangermano, PhD of the Bujakowska labs presented on “Elucidating Retinal Gene Function with in-vivo CRISPR-based Gene Perturbation Assay”
A poster presented by Seyed Mohamad (Mehdi) Moshtaghion, MD, PhD of the Ips research lab focused on “ A Small Molecule Therapy for Retinitis Pigmentosa- Addressing Autophagy and Ciliary Defects.
